AI and TDM Policy
Last updated: 17 April 2026
This page sets out transparently how Windschatten IT handles AI crawlers, search bots, and text and data mining (TDM).
Position
AI-powered search and retrieval systems are a legitimate way to inform about subject-matter topics. Access for serious AI crawlers therefore remains open — subject to the rules below.
Permitted search and retrieval bots
The following bots may retrieve content and use it to reference and answer specific user queries:
- OAI-SearchBot (OpenAI)
- ChatGPT-User (OpenAI, on-demand user fetches)
- Claude-SearchBot (Anthropic)
- Claude-User (Anthropic, on-demand user fetches)
- PerplexityBot (Perplexity AI)
Permitted training bots
Crawlers used for model training are also deliberately permitted:
- GPTBot (OpenAI)
- ClaudeBot (Anthropic)
- Google-Extended (Google)
- CCBot (Common Crawl)
Permitting these is a business decision: high-quality, attributable
content within the training corpus of modern language models is
more valuable to Windschatten IT than blocking access.
Technical enforcement happens via robots.txt.
Text and Data Mining (TDM)
Pursuant to § 44b UrhG (Germany) and Article 4 of the EU DSM
Directive (EU 2019/790): no rights reservation for
lawfully accessible content on this site. The machine-readable
signal is
<meta name="tdm-reservation" content="0">
on every page.
Attribution
When content from this site is used in AI-generated answers or summaries, attribution to Windschatten IT and, where possible, a reference to the source page is requested.
